Nestled between dunes, coastal forest and coconut palms right at the beach...
…Travessia is an Eco Beach Lodge that is all about understated barefoot-luxury. A mere one and a half hours drive from the airport of Inhambane, and just six kilometre of sand track away from the main road, the lodge is accessible enough for a long weekend break and yet remotely enough still to give you an instant cast-away feeling.
Take a walk on our endless beach, relax in the shade of our palm grove, paddle out or gaze at the sea from our rim-flow pool, or accept an invite from the neighboring community. Sophisticated whilst down to earth, with no-one around for miles, Travessia is for families, individual travellers and couples alike.
Located 95 km away from Inhambane, Travessia Beach Lodge is a remote Eco lodge, situated between the coastal palm forest and the dunes lining the beach.
The spacious rooms at Travessia are built of wood and canvas on elevated wooden decks with en suite bathroom and outdoor shower. The beds are draped with mosquito nets. Guests can enjoy magnificent sea views.

ACTIVITIES DETAILS
Beach Activities
Beach Run: Wake up early to find coffee and tea on your deck and set off for a walk or run along the beach before breakfast. Except for one or the other fisherman, you will have the beach entirely to yourself.
Boogie Boarding & Kayaking: Kids off all ages have been braving the warm water and shore break with our boogie boards of all sizes and bigger boards are available for older children and adults. Our Fluid Buddy Kayaks are great to paddle out to see, once you mastered the shore break. For flat water Kayaking, join a half-day trip to LingaLinga and explore the mangroves of the Inhambane lagoon. Return to Travessia by lunch-time.
Ocean Safaris, Scuba Diving, Snorkeling
A scenic day trip to the Bay of Inhambane for an Ocean Safari provides you with the best chance you will ever encounter to swim with Whale Sharks. The coral reefs along the coast of Inhambane are famous for sightings of Manta Rays and Whale Sharks and the area has been earmarked to join the list of Marine World Heritage Sites.
After your first days in Mozambique you will have adapted to Mozambican time (in bed by 9pm, getting up with the first rays of sunlight) and waking up for an early breakfast will be easy for you by now!
Massages on your private deck
Enjoy a 60min or 30min massage on your private deck. Chose from a selection of different massage styles, products are organic and homemade: Coconut oil for the massages or Avodado, Papaya and Honey for facial treatments, depending on your skin type.
Bush & Village Walk
A favorite activity among our guests, our bush and village walk is a casual stroll through the coastal forest, introducing guests to life and customs in the village. Guests will pass special sites like the rare baobab tree , the village pre-primary school or the local bush bakery. Depending on what the locals are busy with on that afternoon, food and Sura tastings may form part of this uncontrived experience. Depending on your level of fitness and curiosity, the walk may take anything between one or three hours.
The walk is for free. Any donations from guests to our “Village Fund” are welcome and will contribute to future projects to the benefit of the community, such as building and maintenance support for the local schools or infrastructure.
