Kariba Safari Lodge is a beautiful lakeside resort situated on a mountainside with sweeping views over
both the blue water and the islands in the Eastern basin of the lake. The Lodges and Suites are distributed
over 33 acres of forested hillside, sloping down to the lakeshore and beach area. The lodge may be
accessed by air or road transfers. With private light air charters from Harare, Mana Pools or Hwange, one
may fly in with convenience to Kariba Airport, gifted with a bird’s eye view of the area. The transfer from
the airport is between 20 - 30 minutes. Alternatively, embark on a 5-hour drive from Harare, 370 km away.

Kariba Safari Lodge was built with the vision of providing a holistic African experience, with the dramaticbackdrop of the lake itself, a panoramic vista from each room. Being set above Lake Kariba on a forestedhillside, the views are spectacular from the 9 open-fronted en suite rooms, as well as from the privatepatios of our 8 suites. Every room has twin beds that convert into king-size doubles, and each suite cansleep 4 guests in king-size double beds and on 2 Indian day beds. Each room has a coffee station toaccompany sunrise, as well as a minibar to accompany sunset. Private, spacious and scenic, our roomsencourage distant daydreaming, witnessing the wild while encased in comfort.
*As the lodge is positioned on a hill, please advise us in advance of any guests who may struggle with thesteep inclines, and we will book them into rooms close to the main reception area.

The main lodge area boasts a panoramic view of the lake. An open aired dining area invites meals beneaththe African sky, with an enclosed option for rainy season. Comfortable couches offer a space for relaxationas well as easy access to the pool bar around the corner. A large swimming pool encourages time out on
the loungers as well as a dip in the cool waters as a reprieve from the Kariba heat. A fire pit with cushionedseats is the perfect spot to sit and reflect on the adventures of the day.
We operate completely off the grid using 100% renewable solar energy systems, with power being
generated by solar panels.
We utilise the surrounding villages to supply fresh produce to the lodge where possible. This will facilitateempowering the local farmers and support the villages in a continuous and sustainable way. We also haveour own aquaponics veggie and herb garden.
All guest amenities include shampoo, conditioner, liquid gel and soaps and sourced from eco-friendlysuppliers, using organic ingredients which are biodegradable, where possible.
Water is supplied from Lake Kariba and treated through water filters for showering. Drinking water istreated through reverse osmosis.
Hikes & Bush Walks:
Allowing guests to get more intimately acquainted with the finer details of the bush. Feet rooted to theearth with eyes to the blue Lake Kariba horizon, a walking expedition in the Kariba surrounds provides acloser look into the ecology and life; the area’s heartbeat. Spend time immersed in the bush, led by aprofessional guide, learning of the intricacies of life around the lake.
Half Day Town Excursion:
Kariba town is a bustling hub of Zimbabwean arts, culture and history. Taking time to explore thefoundations of local people and culture, while learning about the foundations and engineering of theKariba Dam Wall, a day trip to town fulfills historical curiosity. A tour of the wall itself and the dedicatedmuseum is a journey into the history of its construction as well as the effect on the area, people andwildlife alike.
Catamaran Experience:
The catamarans at Kariba Safari Lodge provide an extremely unique and immersive sunset experience.Powered by the wind, with a backup motor for quieter days, sail into the sunset, feasting on the view aswell as delicious snacks prepared by the lodge.
