Wake up with the sun from your eco-luxe chalet and peer out over the magnificent Zambezi River, place of the wild. Sit back and watch the River come to life with colours, sights & sounds.
At Chundukwa River Lodge we enjoy ‘the best of both worlds’. We live on a horse ranch situated just 25kms from Victoria Falls - close enough for our guests to experience all that our beautiful destination has to offer - yet far enough to offer a sanctuary. This is a place where you really can you “feel” where you are. A place you may feel completely content in doing nothing at all – but with the option to do a lot if you want.
We are dedicated to three activities: the hosting of guests; working hand-in-hand with our community to promote sustainable living practices; and the running of our stables & horse safari operations at home and in the Simalaha Conservancy. The spirit that courses through the veins of our operation is one of kindness, on the back of our conviction that “people who are valued, provide valuable hospitality.”
Chuhundukwa River Lodge is located on the banks of the Zambezi River in Zambia, Only 25km from Victoria Falls

We have some great riding opportunities with horses to suit all levels of riding including special “Pony Tales” for kids. For more information see Horse Trails.
There are 2 Polo Crosse fields and the Livingstone Polo Crosse club is resident on our property. Grab a racket and join practice on a Sunday!
Dining & Relaxing
Chundukwa River Lodge has an open-plan lounge and dining area. This area is thatched, with ceiling fans for the hotter months. It is divided into 2 spaces: a lounge with comfortable couches, good lighting, a telescope, binoculars, and a variety of reference books and novels for guests to use and enjoy; and a dining area, with a water-refill point, tea and coffee station, and our famous bottomless cookie jars!
River Watching
We have an open-air deck over the river with comfy couches and loungers where you can enjoy beautiful views of the river – all day long. By night, the patio and deck are transformed with candles, solar lights, and a cosy fire, creating a beautifully romantic dining area under the stars.
Boating
The Zambezi River is 2,574 km long and it flows through Angola, Botswana, Namibia, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Mozambique and into the Indian Ocean. It feeds and nourishes both people and wildlife along its banks. With there being no major industry on the river, the water which flows remarkably fast is drunk by most people living along its banks.
Sunrise and sunset cruises are a perfect way to relax and enjoy one of Africa’s finest waterways. A great opportunity for photography, bird watching, game viewing. One Sunset cruise is always included when you stay with us.
YOU MAP YOUR DAYS
Although Chundukwa River Lodge is the ideal place for simply doing nothing at all, our destination offers exciting possibilities for all adventurers, big and small. We have a wonderful selection of in-house experiences - and for those wanting to explore further afield, our team will assist with advice, reservations and logistics on your behalf. Some activities are seasonal, depending on the ebbs and flows of the Zambezi River.
