Search for the resident lion and leopard; on game drives look for cheetahs, spotted hyaenas, African wild dogs, buffalos, a range of plains game, and arguably the stars of the show, some of the 130 000 elephants in northern Botswana. Take a walking safari and spot some of the 500 bird species, perhaps the coppery-tailed coucal, western-banded snake eagle, wattled crane, or lesser jacana. Boat, or glide on a mokoro, through the clear-blue channels, slipping into the dreamy landscape, in the company of hippos, crocs, and smaller creatures.
