Offering the same thrilling wilderness experience as Chitabe, Chitabe Lediba is ideal for small groups or families. All five spacious Meru-style tents are built on raised decks, from which outdoor showers offer panoramic views of the Delta. Views over the floodplains give ample opportunities to watch the daily parade of wildlife. Both family units have adjoining bedrooms and a shared en-suite bathroom. The camp’s dining area, lounge, and pool overlook a small ‘lediba’ – a lagoon within a channel – luring volumes of wildlife. There’s a rustic boma and firepit for enjoying evenings around the fire, under sensational starry skies.
Located in the private Chitabe conservation area, near its larger sister camp, Chitabe, Chitabe Lediba neighbours the renowned Moremi Game Reserve in the south-east of Botswana’s Okavango Delta. The area boasts widely diverse habitats hosting significant wildlife diversity – particularly famous for its predator species and numbers.

Brace yourself for some serious predator-prey, or predator-predator, action – a wildlife photographer’s dream. Lions, leopards, African wild dogs, spotted hyaenas, and cheetahs provide almost constant drama on the floodplains, at the expense of herbivores such as buffalos, giraffes, and a host of antelopes, such as tsessebe, impala, and red lechwe. On a day drive, scout for elephants, or wait for them to pass by camp. Celebrate the creatures of the night: owls, genets, bushbabies, and many others. Take a guided bush walk to appreciate the smaller fauna and flora. Look for some of the hundreds of bird species, such as African hawk-eagle, ground hornbill, or scarlet-chested sunbird. At extra cost, soar over the wonder that is the Okavango Delta, where waters descending from Angola meet Kalahari sands.
A 20 minute flight from Maun Airport followed by a 30 minute drive to camp from the Chitabe Airstrip.
Maun Airport is an international airport serving the town of Maun in the North-West District of Botswana. It is on the north side of the town and is accessible by shuttle bus or taxi. Maun Airport serves as the main gateway to the Okavango Delta and the Moremi Game Reserve.
CHITABE LEDIBA
Day 1
You will be met upon arrival and transferred by light aircraft to Chitabe Lediba in the Chitabe Concession. This camp is an intimate destination for small groups and families.
Five canvas tented-style rooms are built on raised decks with luxurious and tasteful interiors. There are two family units, one (for older children) with an adjoining front deck and the other (for youngsters) with an adjoining corridor; each family room has its own en-suite facilities.
The main area and pool enjoy glorious views over the surrounding floodplains where a variety of game comes to drink during the day.
Day 2
Chitabe Lediba’s location places it at the heart of a complex and beautiful mosaic of habitats, and this diversity results in Chitabe being one of the most storied of all Botswana’s areas. Experienced, passionate guides are inspired by the intricate and dynamic landscapes to deliver wildlife experiences few other locations can match. Activities include morning and afternoon game drives, night drives and nature walks.
Day 3
Guests will be transferred by air from Chitabe to Little Vumbura. Little Vumbura is situated on a beautiful island in a private concession in the northern reaches of the Okavango Delta. The camp is only accessible by boat, the epitome of island living in the midst of the Delta. Each well-appointed tent has en-suite facilities and a deck with incredible vistas of the surrounding floodplains.
LITTLE VUMBURA
Day 4 & 5
Water-based activities are a focus at Little Vumbura, with mekoro and boats plying the channels. Float along the crystal-clear channels while keeping an eye out for reed frogs and beautiful waterlilies. The hot air balloon experience is another highlight for seeing wildlife from new heights! Gaze over scenic splendour and watch elephant playing far below… Ballooning is offered from April to mid-October.
Day 6
A scheduled morning flight brings you to DumaTau – a luxury ten-roomed tented camp located in the private Linyanti Wildlife Reserve that borders the western boundary of Chobe National Park. The ten en-suite tented units are raised off the ground with window-like netting providing a sense of space and dramatic views of the river. The architecture and interiors evoke a bygone age of exploration, carried through the main areas and ending on a floating fire deck.
DUMATAU
Day 7
DumaTau’s location in the Linyanti and on the banks of Osprey Lagoon position it squarely at the epicentre of Botswana’s elephant herds that are dotted across the northern regions. Other wildlife abounds, and there is a great variety of species to be seen in the contrasting habitats.
Morning and afternoon game drives reveal the rich wildlife of the area. Other activities include boating and night drives. A Star Bed at the Zibadianja Lagoon offers a thrilling perspective of the African bush at night.
Day 8
Breakfast is enjoyed before returning to either Kasane or Maun by light aircraft. You can choose to extend your journey with Wilderness by adding a few nights at nearby Toka Leya, located a few kilometres from Livingstone in Zambia.
