Tented Accommodation

This authentic tented camp draws on traditions of the classic East African safari with beautifully detailed campaign style furniture made from recycled hard woods, and soft furnishings from Zanzibar and the East. The custom-designed semi-permanent tents consist of two rooms plus verandah, as well as a private open air ‘bustani bathroom’ with hot water showers and flush loo. All tents are raised just off the ground including the main lounge and dining area. This is an unassuming camp, light on its footprint but heavy on its experiential luxury. The atmosphere of the lodge is one of bush elegance with relaxed bohemian style, complemented by attentive staff, private professional service and fabulous food.

All tents are at ground level, including the main lounge and dining area. This is an unassuming camp, light on its footprint but heavy on its experiential luxury. The atmosphere of the lodge is one of bush elegance with relaxed bohemian style, complemented by attentive staff, private professional service and fabulous food.
Accommodating Children and sharing accommodation
• We look forward to having children stay with us who are 6 years and older;
• The family tent can accommodate a family of 2 adults and 1 or 2 children.
• Families will be combined with other guests on all activities
• Children must be a minimum of 8 years old to participate in extensive walking activities (Young Explorers program excepted). Canoeing - the minimum age to participate in this activity is from 12 years
• Young children must be supervised as the camp is open, with high predator densities in and around camp and there is water surrounding camp
• Great Plains Young Explorers program – thoughtfully designed to explore a range of experiences and topics from birding to cooking to art to tracking wildlife.
Access directions
• Light aircraft transfers either from Kasane airport (55 mins) or Maun airport (45 min) to Selinda airstrip
• Private Air charter access available;
• Selinda Explorers Camp is a 50-minute drive from its airstrip;

Maun Airport serves as the main gateway to the Okavango Delta and the Moremi Game Reserve. Many tour operators offer chartered flights over the Delta and to Botswana destinations such as the Makgadikgadi Pans, one of the largest seasonal wetlands in Africa. There are also daily scheduled flights to destinations in Botswana and South Africa.
Wilderness Air operates regular charter flights from its Windhoek-Eros-hub, Namibia to Maun ( Wikipedia)
Air Botswana provides scheduled service between Kasane and Gaborone on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. Numerous charter flight operators offer flights to other destinations in the vicinity.
Because it is near Chobe National Park, the airport is mainly used for tourism. Most lodges in the Kasane area provide shuttles from and to the airport. A bus shuttle is available for travel to Victoria Falls in Zambia and Zimbabwe.
