HillsNek Safari Camp is positioned in a secluded corner of the Amakhala Game Reserve in the malaria-free Eastern Cape, South Africa. This intimate family-run lodge is set on the banks of the Bushman’s River with a breath-taking vista of rolling African plains. HillsNek Safari Camp offers an unprecedented safari experience where privacy and personalized attention is the hallmark of every stay.

The main lodge and luxury tented chalets are elevated on an expansive of wooden decks that command panoramic views of the open plains. Discreetly positioned to ensure privacy and tranquillity, all rooms are complete with an en-suite bathroom and romantic outside bush shower.

The lodge sets the stage for unforgettable African sunsets followed by evenings enjoying bush-inspired cuisine and celebrating all that is ‘safari’. HillsNek Safari Camp is ideal for families, small groups or those seeking a truly romantic retreat and is available as an exclusive-use lodge on request.

Situated in the Greater Addo and Frontier Country area of the Eastern Cape Province of South Africa is the malaria-free Amakhala Game Reserve – a mere 50 minute drive north-east of Port Elizabeth’s national airport.

Safari Tent

Three individual luxury canvas safari tents set on expansive wrap around wooden decks with panoramic views. All three tents are linked to the main lodge by raised wooden walkways. The tents are complete with an en-suite bathroom & outside shower.

Family Tent

This 2-bedroomed family unit is perfect for a family of four. Main bedroom with king size bed and a smaller 2nd bedroom with a double fold-out bed. Interleading door and a shared bathroom.

BY Road

Directions to Hillsnek Safari Camp from Port Elizabeth approx 75 Km/1 Hour

•  From Port Elizabeth take the N2 towards Grahamstown
• Pass the Paterson turn-off and continue for another 10 km.
• Continue over a bridge (Bushman’s River) where you travel about 200m until you see a road sign “Woodbury Lodge, Amakhala Game Reserve”
• Take the right exit under a thatched roof to Woodbury gate
• At the reserve gate – press the white button to enter
• Continue on an unpaved road until you come to a split – continue right following the signage “ HillsNek” and “Conservation Centre”
• As you approach the Conservation Centre you will see a sign that reads “HillsNek Parking”
• Your ranger will be there to welcome you.
