Opened in 2010, Rhino River Camp is situated in Meru National Park, Northern Kenya. Rhino River Camp is a collection of five beautiful tents built out of sumptuous caramel canvas and sustainable wood, raised on platforms above the Kindani River. The Camp has a large central area with a bar, lounge and a library with views over the river and forest.
Situated in sixty acres of privately owned wilderness, Rhino River Camp offers the chance to connect with nature and delight in the senses of the bush. Meru National Park hosts a large population of elephant, hippo, buffalo, lion, cheetah and leopard. Activities include game drives, bush walks, hiking, mountain biking and fishing. Guests can also take the opportunity to visit the local villages and learn about the culture of the Meru people and their traditions.
Whether it’s spotting the big game or delicate bird species that only the Kenyan wilderness can offer, or letting all those little stresses melt away with a therapeutic massage, a stay at Rhino River Camp can fill every moment with pure enjoyment.
Rhino River Camp is situated in 60 acres of privately owned wilderness right on the edge of the Meru National Park and it is an excellent base from where to explore Meru National Park, with opportunities to see all of Africa’s “Big Five”.

Riverside Tents

The upmarket and uniquely designed canvas tents of the camp are built on wooden decks suspended among the trees of the pristine forest edging Kindani river. The rooms are large, and set on decks at different levels blending with the tree canopy.
The Camp also has 2 Forest tents that are located inside the lush forest away from the sounds or river Kindani's running waters.
Family Unit
(2 ROOMS)
The family unit - Suite is 100 sq.mts (330 sq.feet) and has a master bedroom, a sitting room that doubles up as a second bedroom for kids, two bathrooms and an ample balcony.
It is along the river and surrounded by huge raffia palms.
The second family unit comprises of 2 adjacent tents with a joined Veranda and the second tent is smaller than the main tent and can accommodate up to 3 kids. The main tent of this unit can be occupied as a double tent.
Air Kenya scheduled flights and charter from Nairobi Wilson airport (50mins) to Kinna airstrip and half-hour off-road drive safari.

5/6 hrs drive from Nairobi along a turmac road and access Meru NP from Murera Gate.
