Ashnil Samburu Camp is a luxury tented set in the spectacular backdrop drop of the Mighty Ol Olokwe mountain fronting Ewaso Nyiro River. The 30 exclusive luxury Tents are spread out along the shady banks of the river under a thick stand of doum Palms.
It features an outdoor swimming pool surrounded by sun lounges, a garden and a Lounge bar offering views of the African savannah. Each tent features a decked Terrance with views of the Ewaso Nyiro River. The restaurant offers views of the river and serves a variety of menus comprising of Oriental, traditional and international cuisines. A range of activities are available on request and comprise of game drives, nature Walks and a cultural visit to the samburu village, bush meals like bush lunch/dinner and sundowners.

The main activities are the morning and afternoon game drives, both at fixed times. This area is known for its abundance of the Special Five: reticulated giraffe, Grevys zebra, Somali ostrich, beisa oryx and the gerenuk, and over 400 bird species. There are other activities on offer, like guided bush walks, sundowners and massages, but enquire first whether it carries an additional cost. The camp about a 30-minute drive from the Samburu National Reserve, so day trips are possible.

Buffalo Springs Airstrip is located inside Buffallo Springs National Reserve and it is mainly used by the camps and lodges inside the reserve including Ashnil SamburuCamp.
Ashnil Samburu Camp is 12 kilometers from Ngare Mara Gate, Buffalo Springs National Reserve south of Samburu National Reserve, about 325 km from Nairobi. Flying time from Nairobi/Samburu is approximately 45 - 60 minutes from Nairobi’s Wilson Airport and about 5 hours drive from Nairobi. The airstrip is approximately 12 kilometers .
Guests are met by the Camps representative at Buffalo Springs Airstrip and driven to the Camp
The best time to visit Samburu National Reserve and therefore Ashnil Samburu Camp is from December to March and July to October when the wildlife viewing is at its prime.
