The Camp is Small and exclusive, comprising 25 tents. The tents are furnished with the understated luxury required by the modern traveler.

Flamingo Hill Camp is an eco-friendly establishment. Part of the money earned from the camp is used for environmental restoration and endangered species.

The Flamingo Hill Camp is situated within the famous Lake Nakuru National Park, which lies within the Great Rift Valley of Kenya.

Nestled between the “honeymoon hills”, and set in beautifully landscaped grounds with natural foliage and a variety of indigenous African plants and flowers.

Small and exclusive, comprising 25 tents. The tents are furnished with the understated luxury required by the modern traveler. Decorated in calming safari tones, natural woods, wrought iron and crisp cottons each tent has been meticulously planned to maximise comfort. All tents have the following facilities:

• four poster beds & mosquito nets
• en-suite with shower, WC and flush toilets
• writing desk
• a private verandah overlooking the plains
• hot and cold running water
• voltage at 240 volts

Game drives

Guided game drives in the park offer some exciting wildlife encounters year round. This is one of the few remaining sanctuaries for the critically endangered black rhino, and, if you're lucky, you'll also see white rhino, lion, leopard, hippo and endangered Rothschild's giraffe.

Nothing beats the rewarding experience of a game drive within the park.

Early morning and afternoon game drives in Lake Nakuru National Park offer the chance to explore the graphic flamingo-fringed shores for which this reserve is renowned. Game viewing is generally rewarding, with large herds of buffalo, prides of lion, a variety of plains game, the special opportunity to see both white and black rhino, and exceptional birdwatching. Between game drive (and eating!), cool off in the swimming pool, stroll around the gardens, or enjoy a massage in the spa.

Gazetted as a national park in 1968 Sunk deep in the cleft of the Great Rift Valley one of the earths most phenomenal geological features, ringed by shoals of extinct and dormant volcanoes and presided over by one of the largest craters in the world, lies Lake Nakuru National Park. Part of the ancient landscape known as the “cradle of mankind”, the Park offers a wealth of history, unique wildlife, spectacular bird life and some of the most beautiful scenery in Africa.

Lake Nakuru National Park is a popular destination. Numerous films and documentaries have featured in this park involving world wide renowned film-makers. Indeed when officially opening the park in 1961, world famous ornithologist and artist, Sir Peter Scott referred to the lake as a “ sight of incredible beauty and interest” and went on to express that “there can be no more remarkable ornithological sight in the world” THE VERY BEST OF LAKE NAKURU NATIONAL PARK

By Air

The Camp is approximately 30 minutes from Nairobi and you land at Naivashi Airstrip. Transfer to Flamingo Tented Camp from Naivashi Airstrip is 15 minutes. Nearby are lake Elemetaita, Navaisha and Bogoria

Road

The drive takes approximately 2 hours from Nairobi.

Nestled between the “honeymoon hills”, and set in beautifully landscaped grounds with natural foliage and a variety of indigenous African plants and flowers.

Restaurant:

The restaurant seats approximately 80 people comfortably and serves a buffet breakfast and lunch. Dinner is a mix of table d’hote or buffet style.

• Breakfast is served daily, between 6.00am & 9.30am

• Lunch is served between 12.30 noon & 2.30pm

• Dinner can be enjoyed between 7.00pm & 9.30pm

Our experienced chefs will prepare meals to tantalize taste buds! We also cater for any special dietary requests made by our guests.

The bar is well stocked with local as well as imported beverages.

Our guests are treated to the famous flamingo hill cocktails whilst relaxing in our comfortable and open Lounge with a view of the plains. Recline, get pampered by our staff and enjoy an African sundowner!
