Kenya's Solio Lodge is recognised as the most successful private rhino breeding reserve in the country allowing guests to experience fantastic sightings of up to 42 rhinoceros at a time. As the only lodge in this reserve, travellers enjoy the most exclusive stay at this luxurious lodge.

Making use of fresh and organic ingredients wherever possible, dinner is usually served outdoors, under the star-studded sky from where grazing impalas, zebras and waterbuck can be admired, making for a breathtaking setting.

Thrilling day and night safari drives through the vast reserve allows guests to enjoy close encounters with Africa's untamed wildlife. Adventurous travellers may take a helicopter trip to nearby Mount Kenya and enjoy a unique hilltop picnic breakfast combined with trout fishing in the Aberdare National Park. At the lodge, guests have the chance to relax with soothing spa treatments surrounded by the natural surroundings of the bushveld.

Set in the Highlands region around Aberdare National Park and Mt Kenya at higher altitudes it is usually warm during the day and cooler at night. The temperatures rather consent throughout the year with June, July and August being the colder months. This lodge in East Africa is open all year round, with the exclusion of November, during which time maintenance is done.

The Solio lodge on the 55 000 acres Solio Game Reserve, a private wildlife sanctuary which is in the scenic valley between the peaks of the Aberdare Mountains and the slopes of Mount Kenya.

The lodge features five Luxury Cottages each of which provides en-suite bathrooms and private decks from where scenic vistas of the hills and Mount Kenya in the distance can be admired. Each of the beautiful rooms at the lodge offers a lounge area which is complete with a fireplace for the cooler evenings.

The spacious en-suite bathrooms are equipped with bathtubs, double sinks, and showers. With the floor to ceiling windows, guests can take full advantage of the lodge's spectacular surroundings, with panoramic views of Mount Kenya. Two of the rooms can be changed to be inter-leading making a Family Room which can accommodate up to five guests.
