For the love of birds
Once a year, Birdlife South Africa hosts South Africa’s Birding Big Day, where participating teams have 24 hours to record all bird species they see and hear in their environment. Every year Wilderness gets in on the action, with several of our most talented twitchers focusing their binoculars on the cause. Grant Woodrow’s team racked up 147 bird species in Kruger National Park while Craig Glatthaar’s team in Cape Town tallied a count of 156. But they didn’t stand a chance against our formidable Botswana birders…
