The Lower Zambezi as a wildlife and safari destination has had an incredible 2022 and Baines’ River Camp has been delighted to be a part of it. Across the valley, guests have experienced incredible wildlife sightings, the tiger fishing has been brilliant and the game populations have gone from strength to strength. The people who have been in the valley for years all agree that the area, river and the wildlife is really in a purple patch at the moment!
“Absolutely beautiful in every way! The best place I have ever been to. A real luxury relaxing holiday.“ - Carolyn Stack, Sep 2022
Obviously there has also been a substantial increase in visitors both to Baines’ and the other properties in the valley, especially from the winter months onwards.
This opens up a wonderful opportunity in March, April and May to experience the Lower Zambezi when there are less visitors and the valley is beautiful and green and we are offering an additional 10% off your nett rates for any new bookings confirmed with a deposit for these months in 2023 before the 1st of December 2022.
"The wildlife in this location is nothing short of incredible, probably the best place I’ve visited in Africa. Would recommend highly and can’t wait for my return visit." - Jason H, Sep, 2022
“Wow, you guys are absolutely amazing. The special surprises kept coming. We were spoilt beyond! Truly cannot thank the whole team enough for this experience. Thank you, thank you! We love this place.”

Our location in the Lower Zambezi means you are never far from exceptional wildlife experiences and safari activities
When you visit Baines, you will get to explore one of Africa’s last remaining true wilderness areas, where no fences exist and nature alone forms the boundaries. This is where you will experience the untamed African wilderness where the life and movement of its wildlife remains as it has been for centuries, unchecked and unchanged.
